A Look At Non Surgical Liposuction

With all the advances made in the field of cosmetic surgery and body contouring, non surgical liposuction is now an option for people that do not want to undergo a surgical procedure. There are three common procedures that can be done, although only one has been approved for use in the United States. All three are much less invasive than surgical liposuction, and produce like results.

A patient may have enzymes, phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate, injected into fatty areas that will cause the fat cells to dissolve and eventually turned into liquid. These enzymes are naturally produced in the gall bladder and used to digest fat. This can be readily done in a number of areas. Once the fat is in liquid form it is processed through the body and excreted as urine. This procedure is known as lipodissolve and has been used in Europe for three decades.

A similar procedure to lipodissolve, but a bit slower, is mesotherapy. This is a popular non surgical liposuction procedure in Europe and South America. This time amino acids and some holistic medicines are used to dissolve the unwanted fat. Mesotherapy requires more treatments than lipodissolve for the same results. Unfortunately, both lipodissolve and mesotherapy have not yet been approved for use in the United States.

For people in the U.S. that want to change their body without enduring surgery, there is the option of laser liposuction. Instead of injecting a compound into the areas of fat, a laser is used to turn the fat into a liquid form. The liquid gets flushed through the excretory or lymphatic systems.

All three procedures have shown fat loss, and a reduction in cellulite. There is a much shorter recovery period than in traditional liposuction. It is very important to understand that although these are non surgical liposuction procedures, a certified cosmetic surgeon should be consulted.
