An Herbal Detox for A New Year

If you have been struggling with weight issues and you’d like to finally get some control, then you should consider a body detoxification program.  These can be done in a healthy way to support your weight loss goals, but also support a healthy way of eating and living.  If you have any health issues or currently take medication, you should consult with your health care practitioner before just jumping into something new like this.  They may not either support or be aware of ways to help you with this, but it is a good idea to keep them in the loop.

There are many ways to detox your body.  In fact, there are probably as many ways to detox your body as there are controversy over its effectiveness or need.  We’ll be the first to say that if you have a significant amount of weight to lose, then don’t fool yourself into thinking that you can do some quick week or month long herbal detox and expect to lose all of it.  This is just not realistic and it will set you up for disappointment.  The real and long-lasting benefits of herbal detoxification are health-related and involve more than simply your weight.

In order to get you started, think about the various ways that you can cleanse your body.  There are various body systems that do this for us; your lungs, skin, liver, kidneys and lymph are the main cleansing and cleaning systems in your body.  Of course, all parts of your body work together to clear, clean and heal, but these are the more ‘cleansing-specific’ systems.  So, it should come as no surprise that these systems are the ones that a body detoxification program targets.  Often, they are specific to one system, but occasionally they address several.  Imagine beginning this year of your life with a clean and healthy body through the help of an herbal detox.
