Are you getting the most of your table runners?

Have you bought into modern popular trend and bought yourself a table runner? For the purpose of what I am writting about today I will assume the answer to this is a clear yes, however if your not quite up with modern interrior design trends and have spent the last three years hiding under a placemat at the dinner table of Greek God on the top of Mount Olympus. It's time to get on the wagoon and get yourself one, oh and quick cos' there here to stay. Yup, you heard me right!

So, where did they come from? Like all great things - Jakie Chan, Tofu and man eating robots table runners came from the east in any further attempt to turn everything we know as western into 'weastern' but hell I'm not complaining bring on the revolution I say! Anywhos....

The Table runner acts as a great was to both complement and function on your dinning table in the same way you would look at placemats as fitting to the dining experience. They are popular in a style know as Shabby Chic, with is a odd mixture, of vintage/retro with a relaxed coolness that screams classy or Chic (pronounced sheek, I am told) But how can you jump on the proverbial table runners band wagoon? Well quite simply, table runners can be used for all sorts of things, coffee table, dressers and even sitboards alongside there standard uses. If you want to get really creative make sure you purchase a machine washable table runner and you can use it for all sorts of purposes.

Because of this is a reletively small niche - people wanting to buy shabby chic table runners comercial suppliers really are meeting this need well in a competitive way and a way which is yielding great products for the consumer, thats why I would suggest buy making your own or obtaining one from a vintage second hand store.

Goodluck, and don't forget the placemats while your there!
