Even as early as 2006 when people set out for their backpacking expeditions it was a more common sight that people are trying to curtail their cost as much as possible. They would do it by staying in cheap hostels, cooking their food by themselves and traveling by the cheapest means that is available in the place. The backpackers did not pay much attention to the luxury and style on the road.

They focused more on exploring the various places. But for a period of one to one and a half years the entire concept of backpacking has gone through a sea change. Today it is more popularly known as flashpacking.

People who are involved in this exercise are older than the ones who are engaged in backpacking. As a result they are established and professionally settled in their lives. Hence it is very obvious that they will be having more money in their hands which they would like to spend on their comforts and luxuries. Moreover it has been seen that today the internet and social networking sites are so much connected with our lives that it becomes difficult to get disconnected with them even when we travel.

For instance almost everyone today is in Face Book and as they travel they would love to be connected to Face Book because that gives them the opportunity to stay in touch with their friends and family. Thus it can be said that there are some essential travel products which every flashpacker carries. One such accessory is the lap top.

Moreover flashpackers prefer to stay in hotels which provide them with all kinds of comfort and luxuries. They also want to travel by faster modes of transport in order to save on time because time is not unlimited for a flashpacker. Hence it can be well said that flashpacking is backpacking in style.
