Belly Fat Misconceptions

For most people, belly fat is a very undesirable thing, and it is something that is truly unwanted and unnecessary. The only people that need belly fat are bodybuilders, weight lifters, and professional athletes that need the fat in their body to lift weights. However, even though belly fat is a very undesirable thing, and that it should be kept at a minimum, before asking how to lose belly fat, it is important to keep in mind these common misconceptions first.

  • Belly fat isn’t lost by doing thousands and thousands of crunches, sit-ups and other abdominal exercises. It is lost through a balance of proper diet and exercise.
  • There is no such exercise that targets belly fat. Crunches won’t flatten the stomach. Heck, it might even make the belly fat more obvious, and more often than not, very unsightly.  In order to lose belly fat, cardiovascular exercises early in the morning are a definite must. Jogging and running has never been elapsed as the top calorie-burning exercise around, followed by other sport activities, such as basketball, cycling, mountain climbing, and most especially, swimming.
  • Weight lifting is a definite must in order to lose belly fat. Contrary to what most people believe, the abdominal muscles are in use during weight lifting, this is because of the fact that the abdominals are core muscles, and that they are contracted and forced to work when lifting weights.
  • In order to lose belly fat, and fat for that matter, it is necessary to do both cardiovascular exercises and abdominal exercises. If one finds conventional cardiovascular exercises boring, one can also try to do dancing, such as belly dancing, and more recently, pole dancing. They are a good way to burn those calories, as well as release stress and those inner inhibitions.

So, for those who are still typing in, how to lose belly fat for women, and those who are looking for quick fixes and exercises in order to lose belly fat, then, stop doing so. Not only are they just complete waste of time, but, they may also prove to be quite detrimental, as well as dangerous, because some quick fixes that promise to help lose fat and weight are unhealthy, and will have some serious health consequences in the long run. Belly fat will be lost eventually, if one follows a strict diet regimen and exercise routine. After all, even though belly fat exercises were available, it would make the body slightly out of proportion and would really be unpleasant.
