Chocolate Recipe: Chocolater and Biscuits Dessert

This chocolate and biscuits dessert is very easy to prepare, and it is also very similar to the classic Italian tiramisu sponge cake recipe. So, if you have been thinking of making a tiramisu, but it looked too complicated, you can practice with this one first. Or, on the other hand, if you are a tiramisu expert, and you feel like trying something similar but different, this is still the recipe for you.

Ingredients for four people:

350gr (12 oz) rich tea biscuits, preferably rectangular-shaped
150gr (5 oz) butter
3 egg yolks
75gr (2½ oz) caster sugar
50gr (1¾ oz) dark chocolate
1 glass of milk
50gr (1¾ oz) hazelnuts, toasted and chopped
2 tbsp bitter cocoa powder

Directions:
Put the dark chocolate and ½ glass of milk in a small pan and melt it on a very low heat. In a bowl, work the egg yolks with the sugar until pale yellow and foamy, then add the melted chocolate. Melt the butter and, in a second bowl, mix it with one tbsp of cocoa powder, add the mix to the first bowl and give a good stir for a couple of minutes.
Using your hands, crumble 50gr (1¾ oz) of biscuits and add them the chocolate and egg mix together with the hazelnuts.
Line a plum cake tin with an aluminum foil, dip the remaining biscuits in the remaining milk and spread some cream on top. Add the second layer and continue until you reach the top of the tin. The last layer will be just biscuits. Dust with the other tbsp of cocoa powder and put it in the fridge for two hours before serving.

Did you still find this recipe too hard for your culinary skills (or lack thereof)? Then a chocolate fountain is what will do for you, just take some very good chocolate, and some food for chocolate fountain and you are all set.
