Choosing an Acoustic Guitar for Beginners

If you are just starting to learn to play guitar and are looking at buying your first acoustic then you may be confused by the many different brands available.  Many people choose to buy a cheap beginner acoustic guitar for starting out because for the most part, beginners are more likely to break strings learning how to tune their guitar and while still learning a guitar can become damaged.  However this is not necessarily the best option for beginners.

Another overlooked factor for beginners is the actual make of the guitar, a good guitar will be made to detail with quality parts and strings.  This is essential, playing guitar at first can be a painful experience as you wait for your fingertips to harden enough to press the strings to produce notes, a well made guitar tends to have strings that sit closer to the fret board making playing for beginners a much less painful experience.  A cheaper guitar will often be much harder to play, the strings will need much more pressure to produce a clear note and while this will harder the fingers, it is a painful way to learn.

The last thing and probably one of the biggest reasons that people choose a less expensive guitar over a brand made acoustic is the price, you can pick up a cheap guitar for around eighty dollars whereas an acoustic from a brand such as Fender or Gibson will set you back by around twice that amount.
