Decorating Rooms With a Sisal Rug

There are many choices for a decorative rug and if one is looking for natural beauty and durability, especially in a high traffic area, a sisal rug may be the optimal choice. It is so sturdy; it has been used in the manufacturing of ropes. Sisal can be woven to incorporate different dyed fibers. The style in which it is woven can change its appearance. This natural fiber is also effortless to maintain. Sisal is a fiber from a cactus plant called the Agave Sisalana that originally appeared in the Yucatan. It has been exported to Africa, Brazil and other countries. Brazil is now one of the biggest producers, accounting for most of what is seen commercially today.

Even with its natural appearance, a sisal area rug can be used in some of your more formal settings, such as the living and dining room. With the variety in color to match different decorating schemes, most can utilize its loveliness. The rugs come in a variety of sizes, but lend themselves to customization.

Sisal is extremely stain resistant. Care and cleaning is quite simple, as sisal material should be vacuumed regularly to remove everyday dust and dirt. If there is a spill such as juice or wine, just dab at both the top and base until dry. If it looks as if the rug will stain, cleaning in a wet manner should be minimal, at most, blotting using a minute amount of club soda. Again, make sure it dries thoroughly so that liquid does not damage the sisal material.

Sisal rugs are a great choice for decorating the most elegant room, a child's room, and even the family den. The natural beauty will shine through with very little care. There are many choices in style and color to ensure each user is satisfied.
