Highest Paying Jobs Without a Degree

A four year college degree is pretty standard now a days when you are looking for high paying jobs.  There aren't many careers left out there that doesn't require a minimum of a bachelor's degree.  It's what high school diploma's used to be back in the day.

You may be glad to know that there are still high paying jobs for those without a college degree.  The following is a list of the highest paying jobs without a degree from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

1. Air Traffic Controller - $111,900

It may or may not be a comforting thought to you that air traffic controllers are not required to have a college degree to get a job.  They do require extensive and intensive training.  The job itself can be highly stressful and only a small percentage of the population can actually carry out this intense job.  The average salary for air traffic controllers is $111,900 a year.

2. Managers - $90,200

Managers in a variety of fields earned an average of $90,200.  Many of these jobs don't require a degree.  They just require additional job training and experience.  You can still climb the ladder these days without a degree.

3. Industrial Production Manager - $83,300

These managers oversee the production and manufacturing of goods.  It may be a career that is leaving with the export of factories to Asia, but it still makes pretty good money.  Again, no degree required but additional training is a must.

4. Transportation, Storage and Distribution Managers - $85,470

Plan, direct, or coordinate transportation, storage, or distribution activities in accordance with governmental policies and regulations. This job category includes logistics managers.

5. Nuclear Power Reactor Operators - $74,180

Again, may not be comforting to know these jobs don't require college degrees.  These guys operate nuclear power plants and get extensive on the job training for this type of work.  Of course, safety is one of the biggest factors in this job.

If you're looking for a career that doesn't require extensive technical training like the one's above, but would like to make a decent income, you should consider life insurance sales as an option.
