Do not be tempted by exclusive venues. Luxury hotels and other top end venues that advertise in wedding magazines are not going to help you stick to your budget. Look out of town to villages and even consider venues that you would not normally associate with holding weddings. Think about where you met your other half or where you enjoy spending time together. Do not pay for two venues – keep your ceremony and reception in the same place. You will save on hire costs as well as transport and decoration expenses.

Change the time of year you were thinking of getting married. Spring, summer and certain days like Valentine’s Day, all see big spikes in the costs of wedding venues. If you can get married out of the peak seasons you will save a heap.
