How To Find Cheap Wedding Venues

With wedding budgets escalating out of control these days and the location of the wedding and reception being one of the most expensive items, it is no wonder that couples are trying to shave a few dollars from their costs by finding a cheap wedding venue. However, as location, location, location, is as important for your wedding as it is for your house, you need to be careful of how you save this money. So here are a few tips for reducing your outlay but whilst still maintaining your wedding’s integrity.

First of all, have a close look at your guest numbers. Start with your rough list but before sending out the invitations, check out some wedding venues. Do not hire a location that will be just too overwhelming for your number of guests. Try and match venue capacity with your guest list. If you need to knock five long lost relatives from the invitees so you can fit into your favourite location’s medium sized room rather than swamping the guests and your budget in the large function room, do it.

Do not be tempted by exclusive venues. Luxury hotels and other top end venues that advertise in wedding magazines are not going to help you stick to your budget. Look out of town to villages and even consider venues that you would not normally associate with holding weddings. Think about where you met your other half or where you enjoy spending time together. You may find your favourite restaurant will be happy give you exclusive use at a lower price per guest.

Do not pay for two venues – keep your ceremony and reception in the same place. You will save on hire costs as well as transport and decoration expenses.

Change the time of year you were thinking of getting married. Spring, summer and certain days like Valentine’s Day, all see big spikes in the costs of wedding venues. If you can get married out of the peak seasons you will save a heap.

So as you can see there are ways you can avoid crippling yourself financially and still book one of the best wedding venues. You may need to compromise on a few things like those straggling guest numbers or the time of year you get married, but it will be worth it to secure the wedding venue of your dreams.
