Anybody who's serious about starting a psychic job can't afford to ignore the telephone. Who hasn't seen the ads on late night television and splattered across the interest? Dial 1 800 Psychic right now! Real live psychic mediums are waiting to take your call . . .
While it's true that the phone psychic business model (the psychic hotline) can make you awfully skeptical, it doesn't have to. Everyone – including sincere practicing psychics – has a right to make a living. Work hard and work ethical and you'll be fine.
Besides, there are some real strong points to telephones in the psychic biz. For one thing, they allow the psychic – you – to actually be in contact with the human being that you're helping. You can hear their voice and that allows the empath in you to go deeper than you might if all you had in front of you was an email. Real human contact, while not critical to the psychic exchange, can be very helpful in terms of providing a useful reading.
But they're still strangers, you say. I can't see their face, can't get a read on their aura . . . well, that's all true, but only to a point. The reality is, once you're committed to running your own psychic business, the days of only helping your friends and family are largely over. It's all strangers – though hopefully they'll become repeat customers and thus not strangers at all!
Here's what you need to consider if you want to use the phone as part of your business. Skeptics are going to show up in droves – mention that you run a psychic hotline at a party and watch everybody's lips curl. You have to be ready to talk calmly and reasonably about what you do. You have to turn down clients who you suspect are only calling to pull your leg or try and trap you into making outrageous claims.
It's as true in the psychic industry as in any other – your integrity is the bottom line. If you lose that or compromise that, then you might as well start looking for another gig.
On the other hand, handled properly, you can steadily build up a base of satisfied customers from around the globe. Satisfy them and you've got repeat customers who will make referrals. You just might find that helping people over the phone provides a steady income.
