Do you like letting the sun light flow into your home? Natural sunlight is so much better to light a room up than artificial light. Getting plenty of sunlight is also good for your health and well being. But like anything else, too much of a good thing can be bad. What's bad about too much sunlight? Well one problem is that it can make your home too warm in the summer and thereby increasing your energy bill. Plus there is the potential of too much sunlight causing your couch or rubs colors to fade due to too much sunlight. So what do you do? You could install UV window tint onto those windows.
Now you may be thinking that window film can look boring or look like the commercial tint you see on office windows. You know, the mirrored looking type of window film. They do have that for you home if that is what you like, but if you look further, you can find some interesting looks and designs.
Want to make a bold look? You can select window film that is very colorful. Maybe your window overlooks a nice backyard or garden. If that is the case, you can find window film that looks like grapevines and flowers. Do you prefer a stained glass look? Stain glass is expensive, but not if you choose a stained glass window film. If you want something simple, you could select a frosted window tint for your windows.
Any of the above mentioned window films would help block out the UV rays. If your window is in a hot sun all day, then you will need to check the packaging to see how much of the UV the film will block. Ones specifically for UV rays cam block out about 95%of the harmful rays.
Instead of buying curtains to keep the sunlight out, invest in buying a frosted window tint with UV protection. Installation is easy, and you’ll save your furniture and rugs from fading prematurely due to the sun.
