Kingdoms of Camelot is an extremely challenging online game played in Facebook. It is a real time strategy game played with over four million other players from around the world. The goal of the game is to build an empire, manage numerous cities, resource production and the wildernesses of the land. Join with other players to form alliances and go to battle against other lords and ladies.
A simple series of quests will teach you the details of gameplay while preparing you for continued growth and expansion. You will start with one city and will be challenged to grow the many facets of your empire smartly. Improve your city buildings, develop your fields, manage your armies and build a strong defense. In order to take those actions, you will need to use resources like gold, food, wood, ore and stone. There are numerous methods to gather those.
Managing resources is the most important skill you can learn. You will want to develop a strong base of recurring resource production by building fields. The more fields you build and the more you upgrade them, the faster your production will increase.
If you need additional resources faster, you have three options. First, you may attack other players and loot their cities. Second, you may loot barbarian camps, and lastly, you may buy those resources in the market. Each option has pros and cons, but smart players will use a well-balanced approach of all three to maximize their resource gathering.
Conquering wildernesses will provide a nice production bonus. Each wilderness type will provide a different bonus, but the most desirable, long term wilderness is the lake or the grassland. Both of these provide bonuses to food, which allows you to maintain larger armies. Because of the tremendous value of these wildernesses, you should defend them with troops or mercenaries and traps.
Don’t underestimate the unbelievable power of Knights. Knights are hired by the player and they gain skill as they age. As a result, you should hire them as soon into your game as possible. Appoint the oldest Knight with Resourcefulness skill to the role of Steward. Check back often to assign more skill to this Knight. The bonuses to overall resource production will continue to grow.
Now that you know the various contributors to resource production, you should have a plan on how you want to use them. While the biggest long term, recurring draw is your troops, you may develop excess resources for items other than food. Donate them to your Kingdoms of Camelot alliance or sell them in the market for gold.
