Makeup vanities are a kind of furniture that can add a tremendous amount of romance and ambiance to a bedroom. There is nothing that says "beautiful, sophisticated woman" more than a beautiful vanity table. Perhaps its because every actress has had one, or perhaps its simply the pure femininity of this kind of furniture, but the effect it has on a bedroom simply cannot be replicated by anything else.
While every woman deserves to have a peaceful, beautiful place to do her makeup every morning, it is often not an easy piece of furniture to work into a bedroom, particularly if the room is a small one. However, even if you are faced by the challenge of a small bedroom, there are several ways that you can manage to have a makeup table, despite the lack of space.
One thing that you can do is to try and double up on function. While many vanities are just a table with one center drawer, you can get one that has several drawers on one or both sides as well. This way, you can replace a small, freestanding dresser with the vanity table without losing out on storage space.
Another thing you can consider is to get a small corner vanity instead. You won't have much storage space with this one, but you will still be able to have a sweet little place to do up your face in the morning. To make up for the lack of drawers, mount a small mirrored medicine cabinet on one of the walls beside the table, and stagger several small shelves on the other wall. You can put your perfume bottles on these shelves, and keep a couple of small wicker storage baskets on top of the table to hold your makeup.
WIth a little ingenuity, you can easily achieve the romantic feel that a vanity adds, even if you are a bit tight on space.
