Overcome Heroin Addiction

In this world people become addicts of many things and many drugs. When someone becomes a drug addict of any drug it is never a good thing, but one drug in particular that is the worst to become addicted to is heroin.

The drug heroin is derived from morphine and is a depressant. It is one of the most addicted drugs in existence and is the toughest to break addiction. Though their are many different ways of doing heroin such as smoking it and snorting it. Most heroin addicts satisfy their cravings by injection into their veins.

Heroin will make an addict feel a rush that is intensified by a warming feeling. There will be pure pleasure as the heroin addict will feel no worries or any pain. After the rush is over the user will go into a nod mode which is a mode where they are alertly awake but are in a drowsy state of mind.

The central nervous system becomes depressed which causes mental functioning to not work correctly. If you were talking to someone while they were in this nod mode you would notice that they have very slurred speech and will speak very slow. They may even dose off for a few seconds while talking to you and then continue the conversation five or so seconds later. Other effects of heroin include droopy eyelids, constipation, constricted pupils, and vomiting.

Heroin is a very dangerous drug that can lead to a persons death. A few of the health dangers that long time users may experience are pneumonia, collapsed veins, heart problems, and liver disease. Clogging of the blood vessels may also bring on complications to the users lungs, brain, kidneys, and liver.

When someone has been doing heroin for many years they will have to take the drug to just feel normal. The longer that someone does heroin the more tolerance they will develop to the drug. The body will get used of the drugs presence and when the body does not have it withdrawal symptoms will occur. This is why heroin is one of the most addictive drugs as the body actually takes on a physical dependence on the drug.

When heroin withdrawal symptoms occur the heroin addict will feel restlessness, muscle and bone pain, insomnia, vomiting, cold flashes, and other symptoms. Those who have tried to kick the habit have described the withdrawal symptoms as horrific.
