With unemployment at record levels and people in desperate need for money, there are a ton of scammers out there waiting to prey on these desperate souls. In times when there are 5 or more applicants for every job opening, it can be quite tempting to take any job you can get your hands on. However, you will need to be careful and do your research before accepting any jobs especially if it has to do with sales.

Of all of the jobs that are out there, sales jobs seem to be the most plentiful. This isn't hard to see why. Many sales jobs are full commission based meaning you only get paid when you make sales. Since the company isn't paying you on an hourly basis, they will generally hire by the masses and hope that a few of them will become super sales people. If you are a college student, then you have probably heard of companies such as Vector Marketing and Kirby. These are two of the many companies who target broke college students with a bit less than honest advertisements.

This isn't to say that you can't make money from these sales jobs. In fact, sales is one of the highest paying professions. On the other hand, it's also the lowest paying as well. Before jumping into an opportunity, make sure you do your research. You can do this simply by searching for the  company online and reading what other people have to say about them. Terms like Vector Marketing scam and Kirby Vacuum scam are a good start. You want to see how the company works and from there decide whether or not it's for you.

Another thing you will want to watch out for is any jobs that require you to pay money to work for them. Most of these type of "jobs" are scams. If you want to bring home a paycheck, then it's best to go with a company you have at least heard about or at least one that doesn't require any type of investment for you to work.
