Saving Money By Booking a Late Cruise Deal

Want to go on a cruise of the Caribbean or Europe but don’t have the money?  Well, never fear because if you have a flexible schedule and can  get to an embarkation point in short notice, a late cruise deal is one way where you can save a lot of money.

By booking a cruise late you can save up to seventy-five percent off of the original price!  Late cruise deals seem much too good to be true, but they really aren’t, and there are good reasons behind it.  A cruise ship line doesn’t want their ship to leave port with any empty cabins.  Not only do they lose money on not having someone stay there, they usually also lose money because that is one less person buying the (usually expensive) products and food they offer while the ship is out at sea.

This means that most cruise lines will mark down their ticket prices to very low profit margins, since any profit is better than none.  As you get closer and closer to the departure date, the tickets get cheaper and cheaper.

While the cheap price is a great deal, these deals aren’t for everyone.  Getting to the embarkation point might be a problem for some people.  Especially if you’re an expensive airline flight away, this could end up eating up all of your savings.  You won’t be able to go on most popular cruises as well, since they tend to sell out earlier.  So you may end up going to other, less popular ports of call.

Booking a cruise late is a great way to save some money on your next vacation.  Be careful however.  If you have a cruise that you really have your eye on you might be better off booking it early.  However, if you don’t care exactly where you’re going and are flexible, booking a cruise late is a great option for you.
