The Cost Of Going To College Is Too High

If you are someone who started college but were unable to finish, you might regret that. A college degree is real helpful in getting a job and college grads usually get paid more as well. 

The problem for many right now is that colleges are too expensive to be able to afford. It doesn't matter whether you go to a private or public school, the price tag is extremely high. And then, if you should be wanting to attend one of the prestigious schools, the cost is often more than the average person makes in a year at a job. 

Women and moms are now looking for grants for moms as they want to return to school and they need any kind of economic support they can find. Many hope that they can find some Obama stimulus grants because they heard him make a speech about mothers returning to school last year. They don't understand though, that there are not any special grants which which are new that he started. 

Getting financial help to further your education will be hard and with the economy in such a downturn, it is harder than it has ever been before. It seems the true downside is the escalating tuition costs which appear to be out of control. How can we as a country compete with the remainder of the world when it is so expensive to get a higher education? What can be done to get college costs under control?

Because most colleges are private, there is not much that can be done to mandate prices with them. However, public and state colleges can be made to lower prices but then they would claim they are hardly getting by right now and need more money. 

All the while, it is the kids that are suffering as many can't afford to go to college and the rest graduate with big loans that have to be repaid. This will guarantee they're in debt many years after they get out of school which cannot be a good thing.
