I have been an acoustic guitarist for many years. I have played in clubs and played in venues. One particular problem I always face while giggling is finding the right sound for my acoustic guitar. I have many times felt that my "gig" had been ruined due to the sound guy or other problems associated with the specific venue. This is not a good feeling to have. You put your heart and soul into playing songs, and then the sound that come across to the listener is ruined and they go hem thinking that you were not that great of an act. Well this done not need to be the case. I have found that it's much easier to purchase or invest into an acoustic guitar amp that you can dial in your own sound to the way YOU want it. This way, you are not putting the fate of your gig into someone else hands. You can finally feel that your gigs are the way you want them and the sound comes out the way you intend them it. However, picking out one of the best acoustic guitar amps is hard to do and you need to have a few things figured out first.
One of the most important things to know is the style of music you intend to play. If your an musician who plays very soft, then an acoustic amp guitar that has the technology to bring you sound to the front of the mix is needed. However, if you r an acoustic guitarist who plays very loud and strums who aggression, you need an acoustic guitar amp that has the right type of compression that will keep your sound consistent and not sound over loaded or distort your sound. Once you have this figured out you need to acoustically analyze your room. Once this is done, you can really narrow your search of what type of acoustic amp to get.
One particular acoustic guitar amp that I have personally found to cover all areas is the SWR California Blonde II Acoustic Guitar Amplifier. This specific amp is very light weigh so you can travel with it on the road, or carry it down the street. It’s a 160-Watts amp so it has enough power to deliver the goods. It has a 12-inch speaker so it’s small enough where you can fit it on any stage. The sound is also very clear and clean so even if your playing next to a bass player jamming on his bass guitar cabinet, or a drummer hitting his set, your acoustic guitar can still be heard through the room. I would highly recommend this amp if you are a player who plays all sorts of music and may be playing at many different types of Venues.
