The Top Five Most Popular LEGO Star Wars Sets

LEGO Star Wars sets are hugely popular with kids and adults alike. Star Wars has been a favorite among science fiction and fantasy lovers since the mid 1970s, as well as LEGOS. There are some Star Wars LEGO sets that are more popular and have been recreated and updates through the years. These are the top five, most popular LEGO Star Wars sets.

1. The Jedi Star Fighter with Hyper-drive Booster Ring-
This is a large set that comes with launch button missiles and a hyper-drive ring that launches the star fighter. The ring measures eleven inches wide and ten inches tall. This set comes with the LEGO figures Obi-Wan Kenobi and Kit Fisto. Build your very own Jedi Star Fighter and and then place it in the hyper drive booster ring and send it flying.

2. LEGO Death Star-
The LEGO Death Star II from Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi is a must have for all Star Wars lovers. This set is for advanced builders as it is very intricate and detailed. The Death Star kit is the entire Death Star planet partially constructed. There is a stand included to hold the Death Star and an Imperial Star Destroyer to scale. The Death Star measures an impressive twenty-five inches tall.

3. Darth Vader's TIE Fighter-
Darth Vader's TIE Fighter was released for the tenth anniversary of the original Star Wars movie. When fully constructed, it includes red lasers on the front end to give it a more realistic feel. There is an opening cockpit canopy for easy placement of the included LEGO Star Wars figure Darth Vader. This set is recommended for kids between the ages of seven and twelve.

4. LEGO Republic Attack Shuttle-
This attack shuttle converts to landing mode with eight semi-automatic flick firing missiles, dropping bombs, moveable collapsible wings, and two cannons- one on each side of the cockpit that rotate 360 degrees. Three miniature figurines are also included with the Republic Attack Shuttle. These figures are Jedi master Mace Windu, a clone pilot and a clone trooper. The attack shuttle measures nine and a half inches long with an eighteen inch wing span. This LEGO set is recommended for kids ages ten and up. It is considered a middle of the road difficulty when building capabilities are considered.

5. LEGO Rogue Shadow-
The Rogue Shadow is one of the newer models in the Star Wars sets to be distributed by LEGO. This set comes from the Star Wars game and allows you to recreate the ship that Darth Vader's assistant used on missions around the galaxy. This is the only set that was created based from the Star Wars game and not the movie. It is considered to be a more challenging set to build and is not recommended for kids younger than twelve. This set includes three miniature figurines- a battle warn Darth Vader, Juno Eclipse, and the Secret Apprentice.
