Three Types of Photo Printers

Let’s be honest, the best way to take pictures these days is with a digital camera and photo printer. It’s not the best way just because it’s of better quality or technology, but because you can port your digital pictures anywhere you like. For example, you can share your photos online, insert them into a Power Point slide, or just email them to friends and family. However years ago, that wasn't always possible because digital cameras and photo printers weren’t able to produce true picture quality like their predecessors.

About all photo printers today can produce true photo quality pictures. This basically means that you really can’t tell if pictures were printed digitally or manually in a dark room. Also, for a novice or recreational purposes you can hardly tell the difference between a photo printer that cost $75 or a professional photo printer that cost over $500

The difference in photo printers is with its feature or speed, but not in quality. As more and more photo printer models are created by different brands, the better the true photo quality is becoming. However, this is not to say that there is no difference in photo quality from one photo printer to another. Just like film developing labs in the past, photo printers will give you results that range from satisfactory to outstanding. The reality is it all depends on the user of the printer. If you‘re a casual user then a inexpensive photo printer would be sufficient for you. But if you are a freelance photographer or run magazine publishing company then you will want to look into a professional photo printer because the photo quality must be better.

Mostly all photo printers fall into 3 categories. The three categories are ink jet (or commonly referred to photo printer or ink photo printers) , dedicated, and professional photo printers. So no matter which type of printer you choose or need, just know that most photo printers on the market today will be able provide you with your photo producing needs.
