Treating Bad Acne

People of all ages suffer from acne.  It can be a consistent problem or it can flare up in times of stress, or can be caused by hormonal changes.  Some people get acne worse than others. For them acne is a constant struggle, not simply an inconvenience caused by a big pimple. There are ways for people to treat bad acne.  Many tips are basically just changes in lifestyle such as eating habits or cleansing routine.

If a person does have a very bad case of acne, it is best to consult with their physician.  Chances are, the doctor will refer you to a dermatologist.  A dermatologist is a doctor who specializes in skin and skin problems such as acne.  This type of doctor can prescribe medications that can assist in alleviating the problem.

A dermatologist will give the patient a lot of information about caring for their skin, how to treat acne and how to avoid it altogether.  The dermatologist may want to see the patient every three months at first to monitor the success the patient is having with the medication.  If the treatment is not working, the doctor may modify the plan.  Be patient as everyone is different.  The doctor is the best person to determine what is the best way to treat an acne problem.

Changing eating and drinking habits can affect acne positively.  Eliminate low quality processed foods and sugar.  Try to eat more natural and healthy options.  Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables.  As for the drinks, water is the best thing.  Eliminate sodas.  Hydrate your body.  Drinking enough water can help the problem diminish.

There are many ways to treat a bad case of acne.  Eating right, cleansing the area twice daily, using prescription medications and drinking enough water all play a part in getting rid of the issue.  Take the treatment plan seriously and the problem will most likely go away.

  1. For treating severe acne, the best procedure is phototherapu and laser treatment. These are expensive but some dermatologists offer affordable payment plans. I think spending some cash is a better option than carrying ugly, unsightly acne scars for the rest of your life.
