What Type Of Hoop Is Best For You

Basketball is a game loved by many Americans. It is easy to see why because it is such a simple game; get the ball through the hoop more than your opponent to win. One of the great things about basketball is you don't need anyone else to have fun. It can be hours of fun just shooting jump shots and doing crazy slam dunks. There are basically three types of hoops: portable, in-ground and wall-mounted. Each one has their advantages and disadvantages but which one is best for you? Continue reading to learn more.

Portable Basketball Hoop - This type of hoop is probably the most common as they are cheap, easy to setup and as their name implies, they are not permanent. To keep these hoops in place they have a base that you fill with water or sand. They are not as stable as in-ground or wall-mounted so the bounce is not as realistic. These hoops are great for those that don't want to spend a lot or do any construction work.

In-Ground Basketball Hoop - This type of hoop requires using concrete to hold the pole in the ground so if you are not the "handyman" type it is probably better to just go with a portable basketball hoop. Since these hoops are cemented into the ground they are very stable and as a result provide a very true bounce. These are also recommended more for those that plan to stick around for a while as these are more "permanent" than portable hoops.

Wall-Mounted Basketball Hoop - Like the in-ground basketball hoop, these hoops also provide a very true rebound as they are extremely sturdy since they are mounted to your garage. Also, since there is no pole they save space on the ground. Keep in mind that not all wall-mounted hoops come with the necessary mounting accessories and you may need to buy these separately.
