Which One to Buy: Mini Notebook Computers or Tablets?

A lot of people are contemplating right now, which among these new gadgets should they purchase? Buy laptop notebook, mini notebook computers or Apple's iPad Tablet. Surely if one has the capacity to buy all of them, it would all be on his desk right now. But surely, it is better to just get something that would do most functions for you.

I guess in common, these three offers the following:

Internet Access
E-book reader (PDF for the notebooks and laptop, while ebook browser for Apple's iPad)
Using Basic Programs (Word Documents, Excel Sheets etc)
Playing Games (online or offline)

Then we have to consider those elements that are only present in one of them and whether these differences would matter so much for you to choose this gadget over the others.

Portability - The laptop notebooks are among the heaviest in this group depending on the screen size. Followed by netbooks and then the iPad. But are you willing to skip those functions that the heaviest built has just to have the capacity to bring it with you everywhere you go?

Additional Features - Webcam, Keyboard, Mouse, Connectivity to USB or other media like printer, DVD reader, camera or scanner etc. If you have to use these things everyday, then better tolerate the additional weight.

Software and Updates - Some softwares particularly for designing require a certain resolution, screen size and memory them to function. You have to consider these things before buying. Like a netbook could be installed different programs but it is too small to handle the latest versions of Photoshop or Illustrator. It might work for a while but after a while you would see that the screen hangs or it would suddenly shutdown because of inadequate space.

While iPad may be the coolest gadget at the moment, it does not ensure that it would be able to provide the functions that you would normally find in your computer. Like chatting or using skype would be possible with this but without the webcam then you could not even have the video call or conference.

Mini notebook computers, meanwhile have everything that you could find when you buy laptop notebook. And if you do not have to use graphic softwares then this small computer would do just fine. It could also read your ebooks, through its Adobe Acrobat Reader. Why would you have to settle for a little bit of everything when you could have it all in this small computer.
