Why Everyone But You Is Making Money On Google?

Do you have a website?  Is your website awesome?  Is your website making money?  It should be!  Whether your site is designed to generate revenue or not, you can start to make money on Google through several programs.

One of the easiest ways Google can help your website is also completely free – putting your site onto its search engine result pages.  This can be done a few ways: one is through the Google Submit program, which allows you to send Google your site’s URL directly.  Many users have complained about this program, however.  Apparently, Google can take a very long time to get a site posted – long enough for the person to get links to their site on their own, which is how Google finds a site without the Google Submit option.  Fortunately, the program is free – so if you want to try it, be my guest.

A more effective – although more expensive – way of getting attention is through Google’s AdWords program, which posts ads online for your site.  Google will post advertisements for your site on relevant search queries, which means that the people who see these ads are the ones who are already searching for something related to your site.  This increases your chance of getting people to your site – and every time the ad is clicked on, these people are directed straight to your web page.  This program usually charges on a pay-per-click basis, although the program can sometimes charge per impression, or ad appearance.

Adsense is a very similar program to AdWords.  The main difference here is who’s being advertised, and who’s being paid.  Rather than paying Google to get the news out about your site, Google is paying you to help them get the news out about everyone else.  By “renting” your sidebars out to Google, you can get a little extra money by advertising for other sites.
