Wii Guitars Make a Great Present

One of the most popular gaming systems around today is the Nintendo Wii.  If you have never played one, it might be about time for you to give it a try.  If you can't find one at a friend's house, go to a local shop that sells them.  They usually have consoles set up for demonstration.  People who grew up before the advent of this system will be amazed by the way the controllers actually convert the player's live movements to character actions on the screen.  It opens up a whole new gaming experience.

Because the controllers are so interactive, several different styles of controllers have evolved.  Most are simply additional pieces that fit together with the two main controllers, the Wii Nunchuk and the basic Wii hand held remote.  One of the most interesting and entertaining controllers to get your hands on is the Wii guitar.  This is one of the larger accessories, as you might imagine.  It is the size and shape of a small electric guitar, and the original Wii handheld remote plugs into the rear of it.

One of the most popular games being played on the Wii today is Guitar Hero.  Actually, there is an entire series of games in this line.  Obviously, you would have no need for this controller if you don't have any games that involve using a guitar, but Guitar Hero is actually quite a fun game.  Part of the entertainment value is the great sounding original songs that you get to play along with as you practice and improve.

The Wii guitar can be purchased as a stand alone item for under fifty dollars.  If you are thinking of buying Guitar Hero, you would probably do better to buy yourself the bundled package of the game and the controller.  That can usually be found for under seventy dollars.  Any of these Wii games and accessories can be found locally by most people, but depending on the area you live in, you may find that supplies run short near the Christmas shopping season.  In that case, you can usually find what you need being sold online either at large sites like Amazon or eBay, or at smaller websites which focus on toys and the like.  These make outstanding presents for men who seem to have everything else, but be warned that you might have a tough time getting them to give up the remote when you want them to start doing something else!
